((EVENING REPOST))

Quick assessment of the car.

Not much really.

After cleaning the wheels, onto the fun bit, snow foam prewash.

Kinja'd!!!

Kinja'd!!!

Kinja'd!!!

After a prewash, onto a two bucket wash.

Remember that bodywork that didn’t look all that dirty?

Here are the wash and rinse buckets afterwards.

Kinja'd!!!

Wash bucket

Kinja'd!!!

Rinse bucket

Kinja'd!!!

Rinsed, dried and sealed.

Onto the interior, given a good vacuum.

Always remember to take up the rear seats, you’ll be surprised how much crap gets under there. One of my pet hates is filthy under seats.

Kinja'd!!!

Kinja'd!!!

Sides of the seats where the 60/40 seat bases meet.

Kinja'd!!!

Front seat bases were looking awful with plaster, drinks, urea, etc... staining the seats.

Kinja'd!!!

Kinja'd!!!

Centre console covered with microfibre cloths and seat base soaked with fabric shampoo (or as in this case, Valet Pro Enzyme Odour Eater).

Kinja'd!!!

Agitated with a stiff nylon brush, no need to worry too much as the fabric on car seats is a lot stronger than you’d think.

Kinja'd!!!

Wet vacuum up.

Kinja'd!!!

Kinja'd!!!

Looking so much better.

Kinja'd!!!

Kinja'd!!!

Driver’s seat needing attention.

Kinja'd!!!

All done.

Kinja'd!!!

All nice and dry.

Kinja'd!!!

Kinja'd!!!

All finished, looking good.

Kinja'd!!!

Kinja'd!!!

Kinja'd!!!

Kinja'd!!!

Kinja'd!!!

Kinja'd!!!

My kit bags.

Kinja'd!!!

Then on to descaling and cleaning the Tassimo coffee maker.

Any details on that foam pre-wash? How is it applied?

There are several types of snow foam.

I use Gtechniq W4

Kinja'd!!!

via a snow foam lance (not the ones that usually come with pressure washers, they are shite).

About an inch of product and then half fill the rest of the bottle with water and you should get some nice rich thick foam, you don’t want it too thick as it won’t soak into the dirt, too runny and it’ll run off the can before getting chance to do it’s work.

Great, thanks! Your excellent detailing posts have inspired me to wash my ride at least half decently now. It thanks you greatly.

I’ve looked after her cars every two or so months for the last few years.

We have a symbiotic relationship, she has a car that she likes being clean, but gets dirty from day to day use, I have a passion for cleaning dirty cars and making them clean.

Your posts remind me that my parent’s car needs a good svending real bad. The more I look at the car the more fine scratches and scuffs I spot.

You’d have a field day on the Focii at work. Several site visits a week doesn’t exactly leave them clean.

No worries. There are great stuff out there.

That really help save time.

The Focus has a few light knocks and some stone chips. Some time I’ll get them sorted.

Scratches and scuffs I keep on top of as they soon build up.

A good wash and seal would pay dividends.

Afterwards it’s a simple prewash, wash and drying aid that keep them maintained.

Sadly company cars rarely receive such luxuries.

How do you clean door jambs? Been trying to figure that out.

I use AutoBrite Jaffa Clean (but most degreasers will do), spray into the door shut and inner door edges. Continue right the rest of the doors to let dwell, then go back to the first door and agitate it with a small 1cm (2/5 inch) brush (some areas you may need to hold the brush by the rearmost of the handle to get right in, then rinse off with a pressure washer (used carefully) or an open end hose like in the video below from Ian on another forum.
