Just as varied as my selection on Pandora, but with different artists. There I’ve set stations for TMBG, Muse, Boards Of Canada, Rush, Dream Theater, Maximum The Hormone, Phish, La Oreja De Van Gogh, Jíbaro Jazz, Agua Marina, The Smiths, Company Of Thieves, Natalie Merchant, 311, and R.E.M., and then play them all in shuffle mode. It gets reasonably random.

My musical tastes are all over the place. If I put my music on shuffle, it’ll go from Patsy Cline to Godsmack to Notorious B.I.G.

I mostly stick to newer indie or alternative rock but lately I’ve been enjoying the heavier, hard rock. And yet my playlist will also contain 70s classic rock and even a little newer pop music.

Maximum variety is an absolute requirement when it comes to music for me. This is why I cant stand listening to the radio. I have to pick between the Top 40 pop station or the classic rock station. Maybe every once in a while they will get edgey and play some “hard rock” after 10pm when the kids go to sleep. Shit I will gladly listen to Lamb of God, Led Zeppelin, Daft Punk, and Green Day all on the same playlist. None of those are in any way related to each other but all stuff I can enjoy at the same time.

However, I could also happily listen to just Prog Metal all day and nothing else. There is enough variety in that one genre to encompass everything anyways.

My collection is basically just rock and metal with only a little odd stuff thrown in. My sister’s library though is all over the place.

Mostly Hip-Hop, and electronic/house. Sprinkled with classic rock. A gallon of hatred for country. Willie Nelson and Johnny Cash reside outside of that gallon of hatred.

I have pretty random tastes as well. I tend to listen to indie the most, but I also listen to a good variety of classic rock (CSN(Y), ELO, Floyd, Doors, Steve Miller Band, Yes, etc.). Not a big rap guy but I like Kendrick a lot. The great thing about indie is the variety of of the sounds contained within. For example, my top three bands are Vampire Weekend, Arcade Fire, and Tame Impala, and they could all be considered “indie” despite the huge differences in their sounds.

Love of bluegrass and and Johnny Cash comes straight from my dad and his Arkansas hillbilly roots, haha. I don’t care for most modern country western but I freaking dig Chris Stapleton’s stuff. Probably because he’s a lot more rootsy. I’m loving his latest drop.

nice, it’s always growing too! but I also apologize for the Disney stuff. been trying to root that out haha. the origin is me and my friends go to a cabin every spring and there’s not cell network or anything so we all made a play list and this contains that. some one thought it was funny to add those. haha I directly added about 1300 of the songs tho.

No pics because at work. Some of my many music quirks include Johnny Cash, Weather Report, AC/DC, Faith No More, Herbie Hancock, The Four Tops, Janis Joplin, Buddy Miles, Curtis Mayfield, Pink Floyd, The Who, The Stones, The Doors, Evanescence, Doc Watson, Waylon Jennings, Los Straitjackets, Vince Gill, Los Lobos, Rory Gallagher, Yes, Santana, Allman Bros, Marshall Tucker Band and Charlie Daniels. Its an eclectic mix. I also have a huge selection of protest and psychedelic music from the 60s.

Jason Isbell, Sturgill Simpson, American Aquarium (and lead singer BJ Barham’s solo album). Worth checking out. I challenge anybody who says they don’t like modern country. If you’re looking to the radio you’re looking in the wrong place. There’s tons of fantastic independent artists out there that seem to be directly linked to that Johnny Cash type stuff from the 60s and 70s.

To give my age away... I saw U2 live at Cardi’s in Houston in 1981. Nobody but a few of us knew who they were. It was fantastic. My go to euro group at the time was The Boomtown Rats.
