Kinja'd!!!

So Zoidberg that the description sells it as a great mail delivery vehicle.

“This 1991 Toyota Corolla G-Touring (AE100) is well suited for a mail delivery vehicle or simply as a unique wagon.” Who knew the USPS was JDM AF.

It’s hard to make an AE100 look desirable, but by God they done did it!

USPS is RHD AF. It’s not JDM at all. In fact, it’s domestic RHD AF.

I meant the idea that someone in procurement at the USPS would be browsing Japanese Classics for their next fleet purchase.

Are you sure you want to take the risk of trying to pass someone in this, especially without airbags?

I did too. But it was a sedan and a 4 speed...accordion boot was awesome though!

My brother currently has this Corolla BZ Touring in Japan. 4A-GE engine with 6 speed manual. Check out those ITBs...and 8k redline!

Ahh, you don’t know about how the USPS works, do you?

I know in cities and some city-adjacent rural areas they maintain a fleet, but in more rural areas the carriers deliver in their personal vehicles. Carriers that do RFD routes to mailboxes in their personal vehicles often buy one of the handful of RHD vehicles that have been available to make it easier to deliver the mail. They seem particularly fond of Jeep Cherokees; I have no clue why some were built RHD.

I’m sure a very long post could be made on the curious collection of RHD cars that rural carriers that work for the USPS own/buy.
