Possibly

me to lawyer: “Should I prepare for a closing on Friday?”

Lawyer: “the documents are being delivered to my office tomorrow”

Q&A game time

Q: How often should you change this cars oil? A: Two all beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions on a sesame seed bun

Q: Doc what sickness do I have? A: the moon orbits the earth

Q: Where are the forks? my favorite color is red.

Q: What the Fuck? A: yes

Maybe but probably not?

Apparently the closing attorney are dumb fucking rocks and didn’t discuss closing times or something like that. The sellers are not available on Friday. My opinion? Make yourfuckingself available. Your old as the fucking moon, you have so shit to do? what Bingo? fuck you. FUCK

The septic guy is still working. I need to have his paperwork to my mortgage guy by 10a.m. tomorrow to close on Friday.

O the selling realtor just went into the hospital for cataract surgery last night.

Any..... so what the difference between a Lincoln MKZ and the Continental? I thought it was Lincolns versions of the Fusion and Taurus, but I think that is not true.

MKZ = Fusion, Continental I *think* may be on a new platform.

Edit: Was curious, so according to this article , the Continental is an upsizing of the Fusion’s platform.

They are, just significantly uglier. The Conti is based off the new Chinese market Taurus, which is on an extended version of the CD4 (Fusion) platform.

I know you can get the Continental in green with a green interior and that’s all that matters.

Am I the only one who thinks they screwed the pooch on the rear end design of the new Lincoln cars? The front ends are the most handsome I’ve seen in a while, the backs... ew.

I think ts unfortunate for Lincoln that the mkz is much better looking than the upmarket continental

The discontinued MKS was a restyled Taurus. The Conti is a new thing.

Green on tan or nothing.

That would be my ideal choice as well, but you have to give credit to any car maker willing to offer oddball color choices and a coordinated dash.

I looked and I could only find the slateish grey green, which I like but would never buy. Both the continental and the MKZ would look amazing in a deep glossy dark forest green with peanut butter leather....

sometimes.... seller is also a buyer and has to attend a closing that may have been scheduled previously.

Yeah but closing takes maybe an hour or two. Not a whole day. You could easily close on your new house then go close on your old house in one day.

This is completely off topic of your post, but I need your experience. A friend yesterday said she was ready to close on the house she wants when a burst water pipe flooded the ground floor causing water damage. The seller wants to make the insurance claim and put the money in escrow until the repairs are done while completing the sale in the mean time. I think he should just deal with his own insurance payment issues and take the cost of the repairs off the sale price. That way, she can do the repairs her own way with her own contractor. I told her that if her inspector agrees, she shouldn’t let the damage put her off buying the house. Thoughts from your experience?

Again, sorry to thread jack, but I thought of you right away and wanted to get your attention.

The closing is one of the few times a buyer can get screwed. You get to keep the escrow and find a new buyer.

I am the buyer. well at least with the house here, I am buying and selling. The people selling to us are asshats

ha that sux. So the problem with that, is that her insurance would be covering the cost so the seller would not be losing money. If she took it off the sale price, she would lose that difference and her insurance probably wouldn’t just pay her for that loss. If you dont close within certain time frames your friend can get hit with mortgage rate extension fees. My buyer is in that position where if they dont close by Friday they get hit with a $2500 fee.

I think her options would be to delay the sale until the repairs are done or to do the escrow thing like they have proposed.

Doing it the way you propose could be risky. If they agree to a $20k price reduction and it ends up costing $30k your friend gets screwed. Typically they have to put 1.5x the estimated cost into escrow to cover unexpected costs which they get the remainder back at the end.

supposedly the seller needed my proceeds to buy the next place, however she has already moved out, so I believe that to just be BS.

I’m still scheduled to sell my house that morning which will leave me without a house for who knows when.

Okay, thanks. I passed that on. Hopefully that will teach her to ask for advice from idiots like me. I built my house and didn’t have to deal with this kind of situation.

I know... but it all depends where the first closing is. Might be several hour drive if person is moving far away or out of state or out of country. Who the hell knows.

An attorney worth his/her salt can easily slap a contingency into a closing agreement to account for this condition. Therefore it is BS.

They do this shit for a living. Many buyers are also sellers. Its a common condition

Did you at least pack some boxes just in case? A: we don’t actually move stuff until moving day.

Have you helped someone move and you walk into their house and it’s like a normal day? Where are the boxes? Why havent you boxed things? Are we moving every single thing you own, by itself? Did you rent a moving truck? Ok, how many pick-ups are coming?

At lest my neighbors have it figured out. Their new place has a pool & they are moving closer to parents because free daycare.

In regards to your question about the MKZ/Continental now that I’m home from work:

They share the same platform as someone else had mentioned (CD4), the MKZ is the Lincoln counterpart to the Fusion, and kinda-sorta the same for the Continental but it’s not officially the same as the Taurus (someone mentioned China Taurus).

The 3.0L engine available in both is akin to the 2.7L available in the Fusion sport, and the active dampers are the same between them. In the Lincoln offerings, the MKZ has FWD or AWD options; the FWD version gets 350hp and 400lb-ft, while the AWD gets 400hp and 400lb-ft. Continental is AWD only with 3.0L, so it gets 400/400.

In the case of the 3.0L AWD driver’s pack, it actually comes with Pilot Super Sport tires from the factory as well as slightly different leather seats.

In terms of driving, the MKZ is actually fantastic . The torque/power is incredible and has no problem pulling to 100+mph (Lincoln loves the word effortless). Very quite inside, seats are very comfortable and adjustable, it makes for an amazing cruising car. And, honestly, the steering feel is very good and the car is pretty decent for how much it weighs. The improved aero of the MKZ over the Fusion also improves fuel economy; my manager was able to average >30MPG in a FWD 3.0L on the highway, and 28-29 for his commute around SE Michigan.

I’m trying to get a weekend in a Black Label Conti to try it and the 30 way seats out; if it happens, I’ll probably try to OppoReview it. The Conti is supposed to be quieter (less wind noise) and a crazy smooth ride. And yes, you can get some funky colors, rode in a blue/blue Conti a few weeks ago. Blue seats, blue floors, blue pillars, blue roof.

The seller doesn’t even need to be there, they can just send their lawyer. I never met the person who I bought my house from. I couldn’t pick her out of an NBA lineup.
