If you’re wondering if the weird thing that seems to be going on with the engine is going on, well, it is.

Stacked boxer? Huh..can’t say I’ve seen that before.

Plot twist, it’s a para-boxer. A sort-of-boxer. It has common pins for each pair of cylinders, so both top ones go right or left together, *but* in a boxer motion with the bottom two. It could have been made as a normal boxer x2, but this is a little more compact front to back because there isn’t any cylinder offset.

it’s called an “H” engine, and is not very common at all.

Not quite Lanchester level ridiculous
but close.
I have a vague memory of reading about an early 2-stroke automobile that also had twin cranks geared together, but I can’t recall the name.

If I remember right, the top crankshaft and the bottom crank shaft were contra-rotating, killing any torque reaction when revving the engine.(I guess you can actually see that in the small detail drawing).

Yep, contra-rotating and pseudo boxer (crank one’s cylinders go left, crank two’s go right) which means the *only* vibration produced, of any kind(!) would be the reciprocating left-right pitch of the cylinders top-to-bottom if they weren’t perfectly crank balanced. Correct crank balance - nothing. Counterweights on top go up, ones on bottom go down....buttery, and worm drive to the rear, so very low final drive.

But what does it sound like?

No videos show up in search. There *is* one that runs, that’s built a little different than the show model here, but apparently no videos out there that I saw. The answer is probably “like the smoothest bike four banger in the entire world”.

Can’t afford a new one so that would definitely be out of my range. Cool bike though

Someone needs to record this beauty for posterity.
