Remember when 19" wheels were a fancy aftermarket-only thing?

Pictured above: two cars with 19” wheels. Only one of them came stock with those wheels, and it’s not mine.

I can remember when 18's, 19's were a big deal and I could tell the difference on most cars. 20's were enormous and could be purchased on a rent to own basis. Spinners were everywhere. I feel really old now.

I also remember GM coming out with 20's as a stock size for their truck and I had a intense debate with a person as to whether stock or aftermarket was a better option.

The 19s look so small on the fusion

Thank you for the compliment on my dishyness.

On some performance cars, sure...

Automakers seem to fancy the idea of average people driving them through potholes like they’re used to with 14-16s, and enjoying the additional parts sales from wheel replacements.

This is kinda why I laugh at the Accord Sport. It’s essentially a base model but comes standard with 19" wheels and the lower, fragile, bodykit. I’m sure a lot of people who bought it without paying much attention aren’t happy when they need new tires.

Hell, I don’t want anything larger than 16" wheels if I can prevent it. It annoyed me that my Crosstrek had 17" wheels. I like ride quality and cheap tires.

Not fair to compare to a car that costs as much as a house in most middle income areas. A house in williamson county TN if you opt in for the options packages.

Well hey it was the first thing that came to mind when I went to google image search for stock dished wheels. ;)

I should’ve posted this Camaro SS 1LE instead.

But modern cars look ugly with small wheels...

I also bent a 15" wheel on a pothole once. Hate potholes so much.

These expensive low-profile tires are rather annoying. I remember shodding a full-sized car for $400 and a compact for under $200. You can’t even touch this with a decent set of anything that goes on an 18" or larger wheel.

Well certainly happens way more when a friggin family car comes with 45 tires.
