As soon as it starts to touch 110F I start taking cold baths with a little peppermint oil sprinkled in. So refreshing.

I’d be much more pro bath if homes came with bathtubs large enough for an adult male (e.g. me) to fully submerge themselves.

My bathroom is the one home improvement I’ve made. The rest of my house is pretty ugly. I stopped buying cool home stuff as my kids have tried to ruin everything cool I buy. I actually got a pretty good deal on that tub as it is a small claw foot. It was a PIA to get in there.

This is a small claw foot too. I have a smaller frame and can barely submerge myself if I tuck into it. It was the only cool bath that would fit in that spot. There’s a hotel in Phoenix called the Valley Ho that sticks big ass tubs in the middle of their rooms. You could submerge two fullsize adults in them. I stayed there once and it resulted in offspring.

You say this as if 110°F temperatures are a common occurrence for you.

Oh man, I checked into a Hilton in Puerto Rico after a smelly few days of sketchy hotels and camping. Turned out I could fully lay down in the tub. Best hotel I’ve ever treated myself to on a whim.

I loooove the tile. My claw foot is the opposite of yours - normal length but really skinny (my bathroom is 4x7, and the tub and toilet share the short side). It’s bizarre and I guess I could remodel the bathroom to be more efficient but I require a tub, so...

They are. It was 108F today at the airport. My thermostat was reading 110F dowtown (surrounded my buildings). There’s an extreme temp warning until Wednesday night then it should cool off with a high in 101F range. We hit 110F-115F pretty reguarly from mid June to late August. I think we hit 100 as late as November last year. We will have stretched where the temps never dip below 90F.

Can dig the peppermint oil in the heat. I’ve used Dr Bronner’s soaps and a Buff Puff for a good 40 years now. Peppermint in the heat and Almond or Eucalyptus in the winter. The peppermint makes my nethers tingle a bit but it smells and feels good.

Hope all that heat is dryer than here. We only get a few 100F days but with major humidity all the time. Siestas are normal down here.

I use the same seasonal combo of Dr. Bronners! It’s a very dry heat. We get some humidity when then monsoons hit, but they help drop the temperature a bit.

Where do you live that it’s regularly 110 degrees, so I know never to go there?

We are supposed to have over 20% humidity today which is a lot for us. It’s going to be cloudy and 108F. It feels unsettling when it is cloudy and hot out.

If it helps, because I know it won’t, our building is heated by running the air conditioning 100% of the time, and heating the air by steam. This is to reduce the humidity in the labs. Every year, once or twice, for a week they shut down the steam. It’s Tuesday, and currently ~65 degrees in my office. It will creep down to about 50 by weeks end.
