This weekend, I visited a spooky abandoned mansion in Maryland. There are four abandoned cars on the property: three Chevys and a Buick. I wonder if anyone can tell me the year and model for each.

Kinja'd!!!

We’ll start with what I already know. The red one (car #1) is a Buick Centurion. I think it’s a ’73.

Now, moving on to the Chevrolets. There is this gold one (car #2) below. I’m not sure of the model and year:

Then, there is this black one (car #3), which I know is an Impala, but don’t know the year:

The last black car (car #4) was tough to get a good photo of because it was wedged between car #3 and a thorn bush. It’s the far car in the photo below with the blue-gray interior. It also had “Super Sport” badging:

And as a bonus, I found this inside the house:

The Impalas are ‘62s...both the gold and black.

Super Sport looks to be a ‘65 Impala.

I think you nailed the Centurion as a ‘73.

If the last black one had a third round tailight, it was most likely a 65 Impala

The gold one and the black one looks like a 62 Impala

Thanks! The last black car only had two taillights on each side.

Wait, correction on my part. The last black car DID have a third taillight. I forgot I took this picture:

I follow other photogrophers online, and when they visit a cool place, I’ll reach out and ask them how to get there. Nine times out of ten, they’re happy to tell me.

Very cool. Mind linking to some of the photogs you follow? I’m fascinated by abandoned buildings.

An Impala SS vert may be worth saving. That could be a damn sweet ride.

Some convertible loving home owner passed away in the 70s and no one came to sell their things. Cool and sad.

Definitely correct - there’s 2 ‘62 Impalas, a ‘65 Impala SS, and that Centurion is a ‘73— interesting that the 2 black cars appear to be stick shift cars with either a 6 cylinder or a 283 (most likely the latter).

Subject Matters Photography by Darryl Moran is great. Also check out a site called Opacity.
