Nope - land of the Camry. No country loves the Camry like America loves the Camry.

I didn’t. the first time I went to Japan, the guy who was chaperoning us was a German expat who apparently was sick of Japanese food and kept trying to take us to western-oriented places. one was called “M’s Dining” in Iwaki, which was their best estimation on an American diner. Utter garbage. What I got was basically the quality of a Swanson’s Salisbury steak TV dinner. The next day we were going to break off on our own, and when he said “If you want a good sandwich...” one of us cut him off and said “We didn’t come to Japan to eat sandwiches!” he went off to pack sand. that night we found this little place whose specialty was tonkatsu and it was phenominal.

my main takeaways from that were:

1) people from other countries are just as boorish and clueless as any American

2) other countries have just as inaccurate views of other cultures as we do.

Their idea of America is pretty in line with mine. Especially that Suburban.

Where would anyone park those (outside of a US military base)?

Huh? In a garage? On a parking spot?

I was referencing the size of parking spots. All those vehicles (except maybe the Camaro) look to be way too long to fit in standard (at least my apartment’s) parking spots.

Oh no, it’s fine... It would be tighter than in the US or Europe of course, but not a problem... Some private garages would be too small, but they’re a minority.

Interesting. I’m fairly certain most of them wouldn’t fit in the standard size spots down here in Okinawa. The ‘06 Legacy I purchased is about the length of my assigned spot, and I know it’s shorter than those.

Yeah, where I am the length doesn’t matter so much. We have space for that. I brought back a DS from France, the measures over 4m80 long and it’s no problem to park it anywhere... Width is usually more problematic with american car, but still, a Suburban would be fine.
