Kinja'd!!!

The Fuji Baby Condor. I don’t know anything about this car except that it somehow sat two, was chain driven, and looks to have some kind of water cooled engine if that’s a radiator. This is what it looks like when someone is behind the wheel.

Kinja'd!!!

Amazing.

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

As a bonus, here’s the Musashi Paddle 360.

Kinja'd!!!

I can find no information about this vehicle whatsoever except what’s written here if anyone knows Japanese. It’s a neat looking little pickup thing, though. I assume it’s good for driving up creeks.

The Baby Condor is made out of fiberglass it seems. Also, I may be wrong, but I think the text says it is air-cooled. What looks like a radiator may actually be a gas tank?

edit: first line says it has an air-cooled single cylinder engine.

Ah, interesting. That probably is a gas tank then. Positioned for gravity feed, I imagine. I wonder what that box behind the passengers is. It looks like a lot of work went into that chassis for such a little thing.

I think the box is the actual seat cushion. If you look closely the engine seems to be located behind the passenger side front wheel - which makes me suspect this was only a one-seater, unless the passenger had no feet.

Yeah, maybe you’re right. It could be offset to the right. I see where the engine is. But, in the shot of the guy driving, it looks like there’s room for a passenger. And the one description of it I could find on the internet called it a 2 seater. Actually, that one shot of the bare frame must be flipped, because it looks like it was LHD.

Chances are if they built more than one, each one was substantially different from the other. For example, the Auto Sandal, for as few were made, went through several significant variations. Since these cars were built by hand changes were usually made at the whims of the designers and builders.

What an appropriate name. As that thing looks smaller than an adult condor would be! Love that picture of the guy with that mouth cover as well: he’s probably moving that body passing the fumes of your Le Car or my Porker!

I think it is smaller than a real, full-sized adult condor. Those are big birds and that’s a tiny car.

Kinja'd!!!

Condors are native to California.

I think he’s moving away from our cars. We must have been idling nearby. Pretty handy having a body you can just pick up and move all by yourself.

I would love to have a Guppy. It’s a perfect car.

Haha, now I’m truly curious how big those eggs are! Or baby condors.

Aren’t you able to do the same with the Fuldamobil body?

The eggs are definitely not small.

Kinja'd!!!

The Fuldamobil is actually kind of heavy. That early fiberglass was really thick. Without the glass and floor, I could probably pick it up, though.

Seeing that picture with the wolf made me expect to those being bigger... And of course you could pick that up, athletic as you are!

I’m sure I’ll find out someday. I can barely lift the engine by myself.
