Took some time to explore the former gravel quarry after which the park is named. There’s still some original equipment lying around, such as rail car wheels and some processing machinery. Some of the remnants have been repurposed as picnic chairs and fire pits.
I broke out the DSLR for the first time in a while.

And some cars from the C&C event at Portola Valley. Lots of $$$ classics like the Dino, but the cars came and went constantly.

I’ll never tire of looking at an F355. Prettiest Ferrari ever IMO, and my favorite to boot.
In Berlinetta form, such as yours, its shape is just perfect. I mean, just look at that profile. The curves, the details, the proportions: all absolutely perfect.
I fell in love with it as a kid in ‘94 and it still sweeps me off my feet just as much today.

Yep, the only “meh” part is the flat front hood with very little shaping or detail, a relic of the 348. Rest of the car was 90s Pininfarina at their best. The profile is pure naughty car pr0n with the deep parallel intakes and the faux-flying buttresses.

But that’s part of its perfection IMO: the hood has little detail, but that’s all it needed. No gimmicks and cheese like on so many of today’s overwrought designs.
Pininfarina completely nailed it with this car.

When and where does the Portola Valley cars and coffee meet?
I just found some info online that said 1st Sunday of every month at “Ladera Garden and Gifts” but the most recent was some random website posted back in January. So would the next one be Sunday, July 2? That’s the day after Cars and Biscotti in Sausalito so could be a great weekend.
Also I think Marin County C&C is also 1st Sunday of the month but I’m not sure.
I’ve recently started going to stuff like Canepa C&C in Scotts Valley and it’s pretty fun so finding out about more events would be awesome.

This was my first time too. A very distinguished Ferrari collector introduced me to it in person at another event I had attended.
It’s a very loosely organised monthly meet—it doesn’t even have its own event page. Someone will post it on Facebook, so about 2-3 weeks from now search “Portola Valley Cars and Coffee” or C&C or something like that. It’s held at the Konditorei breakfast joint on Alpine Road.

Update: I noticed the same guy posts them every month. The event is called “Cars & Coffee Portola Valley” and the organiser’s FB account is “JamesArtist”.

I’ve seen and photographed his car at another show several months ago. I’ll find it when I get home from work.
