It did exactly what I bought it to do, effortlessly rack up miles. Everything was going great until this popped up on my dash:
This happened when I got in my car Friday night to meet someone from the internet for a beer. Luckily this person’s parents have a repair shop in town where we met for the start of the SE oppo meet. Saturday morning, he let me borrow an ODBII scanner where I discovered the code reads P1447. Guess I’ll add that to the things I need to take care of on this car, along with my nonfunctional USB/AUX port.

Oh dear, what I don’t get is how BMW class it as a consumable item, robbing bastards. Hey at least his new 535d has got the ZF 8 speed slushbox with no fragile clutches!
Our BMW has no gearbox at all thankfully (and is leased!).

Yeah, that was my second throttle position actuator going out at, as you can see, 36k. $1100 part, wasn’t too happy about that considering I was unemployed at the time. I love the car and put up with shit like that because of how good it drives.

It’s what controls the ITBs, so more than a sensor.
If it’s anything like my dad’s 135is, I bet that car is a riot.

Yeah it is loads of fun and the noise it makes, especially on up and down shifts. I’m sure the dirty diesel 535d will be fun, I mean it has got ALL the torques!

That’s the instantaneous MPG; I wish it got that. It gets 26.4 MPG +/- 1.4 MPG.

I mean, I expected it with the BMWs, I was hopeful they’d be issue free but I knew this was going to happen. Fortunately, it’s nothing that needs immediate attention.
Me too, I was super worried that it was going to mess up my weekend. I was glad it got me home as well, because then worst case scenario is I DD the M3 for a week or so.
