Finally got around to detailing her

Not too bad for absolutely destroyed 20 year old paint.

Took off the wheels and polished them with CarBrite 04 as well and i can’t believe how well they came up.

Had a bit of fun too lol

Looks great! I’ve got those same wheels on my 94, but they don’t look nearly that good.

Yeah it’s just the years of rock chips and basic neglect have taken its toll. Basically this is as good as it’s gonna get.

Thanks man. They were actually off a 94 M-Edition. Someone used an acid based wheel cleaner on it and it wrecked the clear coat but about 2 hours with a drill and a very thick coating of Simoniz Glasscoat basically brought them back to life.

Are those the hollow or semi hollow wheels? Amazed at how clean they are! Wouldn’t have sold mine if they were that good

Hmm... I have some 20 year old mostly destroyed paint and would be thrilled if it could look half that good. Any pointers?

Wetsanding does wonders. Start light though. I recommend if you already have a DA polisher to get a foam interface pad and some 3M 5000 grit 6" pads. Work slowly and carefully. This is what my car looked like when I bought it 4 years ago.

By the way that’s not me behind the wheel, that’s my friend who wanted to send that pic to his friends saying he traded his 02 Camaro Z28 for a Miata.

Oh and here’s a better pic of how the paint looks but it kinda overexposed the wheels so i didn’t use it.
