If he’s running a supercharger on stock internals than he’s probably making under 400 at the wheels.
So not necessarily weak, but not exactly a lot considering the amount of custom work that likely went into it.
If you’re going to go through the trouble to swap an engine and supercharge it, than something along the lines of 400hp isn’t too great. And that’s assuming he’s making that much power from that setup.

Well if he was simply going for power, I assume he’d do an LS like everyone else. Going to the trouble to put a SHO V6 in anything, I assume his reasons were other than just giving it more power

I agree completely. It has several redeeming factors. It looks good, they rev pretty freely, and it’s unique.
My only point was that it’s somewhat of a shame that it doesn’t make more power with all the work that was involved.
Curious to know what transmission he went with.

Nah, I’ll keep my straight six with side drafts thanks. My car can’t go anywhere near top speed on the roads I like to drive on, and it sounds amazing.

It’s a dilemma for me, because I love the SHO V6, but my favourite engine layout is the straight six. And my god do Datsun 6s sound amazing

I know exactly where you’re coming from. On the bright side, it’s not a 240 or a 280, so it was a rescue of the unwanted bastard child of that series of vehicles. Another positive note - it’s a v6 that isn’t mounted transversely, my most hated engine configuration.
But yeah, I6 and RWD is my idea of heaven, especially with manual steering.
