This guy, right here. Limped the truck in by powerbraking it at stops to keep it in gear, hence the early start to avoid traffic.

Kinja'd!!!

Phase 1: Remove transmission for rebuild.

Phase 2:

Phase 3: Drink beer.

What’s your project?

E4O-NO! Put in a punisher valve body when you rebuild it.

I’m probably getting a new set of BFG All Terrains installed on my Suburban today. The shitty Chinese Les Schwab tires rattled a few fillings loose on the drive from Portland to Vegas. I’ve tried to have them balanced since I got here with no luck... I’ll be damned if I’m driving it the 5 hours to the Grand Canyon next weekend or the 15 hours home on these awful things.

I need to get the Mustang Fired up today....she’s been sitting all winter. Then it’s time to clean the garage so i can start wrenching on the Outback.....Wilwood Brakes need to go on, Timing Belt, Front Struts and spark plugs....then back to the mustang fo Baer Brakes, and tune up....I dont know that i’ll get to wrenching today...cleaning the garage would be a huge first step....now that the snows melted i dont have any excuses.

I was looking at valve body options, actually. It’s a 4R70W, so marginally better than the E4OD, but still a goddamned Ford transmission. The one thing I have been waiting for to bite me in the ass on this truck. Knew it was going to happen sometime.

I just had new Toyo A/Ts put on this for the same reason, the old Kumhos were just awful, shook the whole truck, pulled all over the road too. I would have loved BFGs but I don’t drive this thing enough to justify the expense.

Chase down electrical problem in a Spectra, the fuel pump is on at all times and there’s no spark, I suspect ECU but I’ll be goin at it with the dmm later.

Then is figure out what I didn’t plug in on the Lexus, because the trunk, steering tilt, and auto dimming mirror arnt working. Already checked fuses so I might just pull the dash and try again.

About to pick up touch up paint to fix my hood. Also installing a cabin air filter (the fiesta does NOT make this easy since step 1 is ‘remove the gas pedal for more room’s) and cleaning.my.pedal switches while I’m there.

I will be trying to abuse my brother into working on his 109 Series Rover - reassembling brakes and hubs. Possibly also the steering relay... On my end, may be trying to tin some sheet metal with ein torch. Notably, I have a Ford auto which is not currently shifting right, but I am *not* working on it today.

I wish, I’ve done them before but I have no time for it now and need the truck back on the road ASAP for house projects and a trip. I’m going to have a pro do it, but at least I’m saving a bunch on remove & install. The truck has other stuff I need to address while the trans is out.

That counts too! I’ve been building a fence for the last 4 weekends and now that’s done it’s time for the truck. Been busy lately. Leveling yards sucks, just getting my fence level over a 1 foot drop in the yard was a pain, now I’ve got to landscape it.

Galaxie not doing too much of anything - I did do a quick assess of what I’ll need to bend to repair the trunk channels and drove it to the store, but the next thing to do on it realistically will be a new radiator, to check the trans band tension (supposedly #2 loose can mean weird shifts?), tighten the vacuum modulator back up slightly more, and do an alignment.

The Ranchero, I tried out my body solder toys on briefly. Too many things to do on it to count, of course.

We’ve actually got five Rovers, and my cousin has one I helped him build as well. Two (+1) running, one more or less running, and two disassembled. He didn’t get around to it, though, because his Astro’s brakes went evil. New front linings -> revealed bad master cylinder - >system didn’t get bled properly -> OMG GONNA DIE - so today he went back to try to bleed it out and broke one of the bleed screws off.

I went out about 12 feet from the edge of the concrete, and gave it a slight pitch to drain away from the driveway. I was having a hard time finding a spec for that, so I ended up going down about 3 inches on the far end. That works out to about 1/4" drop per foot. I hope it’s enough.

I’m assuming it comes on for a moment when the ignition is turned to the on position. But I noticed during cranking there is no rpm shown on the gauges. I was thinking it was a failed cam or crank sensor but then I realized the fuel pump was always on, this led me to think PCM. I have unplugged the PCM and the fuel pump was still going. So it could still be a short and a bad crank sensor. But I didn’t get the dmm today so I was just throwing spaghetti at the wall.

Well that’s good news, fingers crossed. We had a 2007 Z4 in over the winter that just got destroyed by rodents, insurance totaled the car. The carpets were saturated in piss, there were droppings everywhere, interior insulation chewed, the engine and body harnesses were eaten, it just got wrecked. It was a nice car, too. And the lady had some sinus condition that meant she couldn’t smell it! I could smell it from 5 feet away, it was the worst I’ve ever seen.
