I just found this Chevy in Ebay, a LS1 swapped square body in a lovely green and white two tone. But the wheels I can’t make my mind up on, they are custom aluminum 22 in the fron 24 in the rear, made to mimic some old stock steelies. What do you guys think.

I don’t love them. They may be better with some real tires instead of those rubber bands. It seems a little anachronistic to me that they’re such large wheels trying to mimic simple steelies.

I don’t like them. They’re too big for what they’re trying to be. Scale down the wheels and increase the sidewall and then then I think I could get onboard.

Love the truck, hate the wheels. I have never seen a truck with tiny rubber band tires I like. I actually like the design but they’re far too big. If they had done the same treatment in 19" they might look pretty good.

Torq Thrusts would look better.

That’s a really nice truck, although I don’t like the later grille that they put on it - the original would look far better. Looks to me like they did this right- good on them for ditching the factory fuel tank and putting a cell underneath too.

But I hate those wheels.

I looooove the truck, but the wheels are way too big and the tires too small.

A staggered 19" front, 20" rear would look so much better.

A neat idea on paper that doesn’t translate to reality

A set of wheels in that style with a bit more sidewall would look great.

I hate the rubber band trends.

I’m the goofus who thinks everything should have 15 inch wheels though, so....

Not classy and one wonders what other unfortunate miracles lie beneath that pretty face...

I think they’d look great if they were about 4" smaller.

Problem with torque thrusts is that everyone has torque thrusts on their square body pickup truck.

Cool truck, but rubber band tires are never the answer. The square bodies do look better with larger diameter wheels due to the HUGE wheel wells. However, that body style rides pretty rough as it is - why make it worse with rubber band tires?

well I’d say it doesn’t look like a pair of wheels/rims that age with that trucks look. But Im suprised that owner isn’t keeping that truck considering the engine swap/restoration.

(still remember that Ford F-100 beating a Chevrolet Corvette down a dragstrip and not feeling so sure about things in life after that) :P
