Fun memory: Backpacking around there in 1998, completely exhausted, sweaty and hungry on our way back to a random hostel we found for $20 a night (each, among three guys, one of whom we had just met). We would sing Dre and Snoop to pass the time, they were like our marching songs. The impetuousness of youth combined with a lack of good internet = random experiences.

I can remember a succession of late drinking nights in Germany, 2009 with the malicious earworming in my cadre of Eddie Money’s “Take Me Home Tonight”. It was like losing The Game in song form.

Another that still sticks in my head is to the tune of Madonna ’ s Isla Bonita but the bridge goes “ Rasca mis huevos con el tenedor! ” ( scratch my balls with a fork) which helps prove that if you sing something in Spanish, it usually sounds good.

I thought I was going to die walking to the top of that thing. Thank god it was ~65 and damp in October. I literally would have died if I tried that during the summer.
