Looks like the Civic Type R will come in just under 35 grand.

Kinja'd!!!

Someone posted photos on CivicX forums Civic Type R’s bound for U.S. dealers in the process of being unloaded at the Baltimore autoport and snapped this photo of the window sticker. Pretty much the Type R is $10 grand more than an Si. What do you guys think of this price?

About what I expected. I’d probably just go for an Si if I was in the market. Just like I can’t fork over 40 grand for a Focus (RS), I can’t fork over 35 for a Civic (Type R).

I’m honestly impressed. Especially considering it won’t really be a base model feature wise. It came in a lot lower than I was expecting. As long as dealers don’t mark it up too much i think it has potential to sell pretty well.

I was surprised too. Its actually within reach for a lot of people. But I dont know. I couldnt find myself plunking down 35 grand for a Civic. I could make the case for the FoRS, but for some reason I cant for this.

Whats really going to be surprising is the amount of Millennials i’m going to see driving around in these.

seems right in line with competitors, the FoRS is 10-12k more expensive than an ST so makes sense

As a Canadian, I’ll be impressed if it comes in under $35k for us.

Wait for the adm

Local dealer to me has one allocation, 10k markup

I wouldn’t go that far. Maybe $45k max. Anything past that and they’re lunatics for trying to sell it here.

I figured as at least 10 grand adm. 15 is going to be the extreme end I think for dealers that are going to get an allocation of 1 or 2.

But the dealership model is there to protect the consumer!

No charge for the full tank of fuel, so it’s got that going for it.

Pretty much what I expected it to be.

The price is reasonable considering all the kit it comes with. But knowing me I’d just get a GTI Sport and put a flash on it for $25k.

Yup, was on the FP yesterday.

I’m fine with the price because it’s comfortably below the Focus RS, WRX STI and Golf R.

It’s just 35K for the car, then 35K/yr for insurance.

No. No way in hell would I spend that much for an econobox with some autozone shit tacked on (yes I know it’s not that and had some cool stuff, but that’s still how I see it) when I can get so many better things for that kind of money. Like two old Mercedes and a Ducati!

I think that someone will still buy it even though its $10,000 more. And even though it has 20inch rims (why does it have 20inch rims again?)
