Today’s Guess the Film car should be fairly easy, in contrast to the last round which most people didn’t even bother attempting. The car from this film is, in my opinion, one of the coolest movie cars of all time. Like the film itself, many people seem to have simply forgotten about it, which is a shame. It may not have been involved in many high-speed chases, but this 1949 Hudson Commodore Eight was a star nonetheless. Can you name the movie?

EDIT: I knew that would be too easy. My X-type is too a real Jaguar knew it, the film was 1990's Best Picture of the Year, Driving Miss Daisy, with Morgan Freeman and Jessica Tandy.

Funfact: My local Pig has the best craft beer selection I ’ ve ever seen anywhere in the country (excluding specialty beer stores). Probably 150 in cans/bottles and another 30 on draft.

Also interesting in the movie is Daisy’s progression of cars, Boolie’s cars ending with a MB W109, and a Cougar driven by Hoke’s granddaughter. Cars are definitely part of the cast. I’ve always thought the scorn received by that movie was unfair, but maybe because I find the plot more realistic than trying to make a statement, and I like period sets. I seem to end up in Atlanta every few years, and usually make it a point to drive by the Daisy house just for fun.

That movie had some wonderful cars even as background cars. That 1957 Eldorado with the stainless steel roof is so impressive in person, it was featured in the High Museum’s Allure of the Automobile and last I saw it was on display at the Gilmore Museum in Kalamazoo.
