I saw the whole thing happen from my cube, driver got out safely. Hopefully he was the only person in the vehicle.
I heard a bang and turned around and saw that he hit the guard rail, gas started to spill and there was a quick flame. Then the whole thing caught on fire.
Thankfully within a minute or so, he got out of the truck and was walking. People ran over to help him and try to get him out. But traffic is gonna be backed up for some time.
and I took a timelapse, sadly not from the get go, which would have been far cooler.

it usually does. but I suspect it will be irrelevant what your commute it today. News is saying 1-2 hours or more burning, plus cleanup, and its in the centre lane, so likely impacting traffic both directions. So I’m guessing every alternate route will terrible today also.

HOLY MOTHER OF GOD!!! I was just driving north on I 25 merging on from Orchard Road...then heard this huge explosion!!! Followed by the screeching of tires, then everyone stopped! It looked like some kind of tanker or something, hit the median and exploded about three cars in front of me... then the fire started. They pulled somebody out of the truck who looked like they were partially on fire. The fire started spreading across the road and there was no where to go! I tried to back down the on-ramp, but the cars were so backed up, so everyone was sneaking by the very right shoulder, of course gawking and going super slow. I did the same... but was terrified it was going to blow again. You could feel the heat of the fire! I can’t stop shaking… God,I hope everyone’s OK! The highway is closed in both directions, and you can see the fire plume from everywhere!
