You know it's a good day when you put 89 octane in an 87 recommended car and you don't care at all.

Yes the cruze is recommended 87, and yes I filled it with 89. That is all.

My car recommends 91 but nobody in new england seems to sell it. My options are 89 or 93.

Yup. Runs even better on 93 though.

Here in cali, we have no clue what anything above 91 is, hell just finding 92 is like spotting bigfoot. Glad I don’t run premium right now

My dad spent just under 13 years filling up his 2004 Ranger Edge SuperCab 3.0 with 93 from Costco since he got it in April 2004 until he sold it in January 2017.

A Vulcan V6 Ranger Edge. With 93.

Hell, I would’ve done the same though. He loved that thing.

93 is pretty common here in New England.

Speak for yourself. 93 was ONCE common here in Maine, but when E10 rolled out in 2009, EVERYWHERE switched to 91 at the same time. Wasn’t I thrilled I had purchased a car that recommended 93 only a couple years prior.

Now, 93 is starting to show up again at a few select gas stations, but it is still a challenge to find. In certain locales, finding anything but regular 87 isn’t simple.

Come to Maine, we have 91 everywhere!

Running 93 won’t hurt anything, and depending on your car’s tuning, the ECU might even adapt to the higher AKI and run a bit more timing and give slightly better power and economy.

If you really really want 91 in the tank, you can blend equal parts 89 and 93. The cost savings probably isn’t worth the hassle, though.

It’s a high mileage high compression motor so I just suck it up and pay for the 93
