Finally got around to testing the mic I bought for my GoPro. I have the mic routed through the trunk and clipped to the trunk lid edge, right next to the Mazda badge. It seems to be pretty well out of the airflow as there is hardly any wind noise being picked up, but there are some fairly loud pops that come in at higher driving speeds for some reason.

Anyone have any advice for getting rid of those pops? I’m going to try putting some foam between the mic clip and the car to hopefully cushion that contact, but I’m not sure if that’s what’s causing the pops. I don’t have a wind screen on the mic either, it’s just one of these little guys:
