Misdemeanor abuse of badging, felony 2 misuse of mid-quality wood paneling in bed and interior, felony 3 impersonating an already ugly SUV based on same platform.

I saw a two door F150 of those years driven by an old lady the other day, she had a Lincoln front and rear lights, grille etc.. probably an older hot rod person’s DD. The work was perfect, looked stock.

I agree with everything you’re saying, but it’s an obnoxious and opulent oddball, and that’s why I like it.

I admit, I can’t hate it. I sort of hate actual luxury pretensions in pickups, but this is so far from being a usable truck, that I sort of admire it.

That said, this is just such a perfect line:

“You don’t need to be Roland Barthes (or Emerson or Thoreau, for that matter) to see the pickup as a vessel into which Americans pour their cherished notions of self, individualism and independence.

But all these other iterations of the pickup actually do something. This is a truck so perverted by style and luxury that it cannot even carry the occasional lawn mower or sheet of plywood.

But can Lincoln really be held accountable? The company says its mission is to build ‘’American luxury,’’ and isn’t the Blackwood that, in spades? In the democratic logic of a market economy, the public gets the products it deserves.”

So the solution to a car being parked for too long is to boot it meaning it stays there for longer?

That did not age well at all. Lincolns today aren’t any better at being luxury cars then they were in that time, but looking back now it’s so painfully obvious. Just look at that bed. It looks like it came off a totally different truck. Damn, no wonder nobody brought these things.

I think they just do that until they send a tow truck down so the owner doesn’t take it in the meantime.

If it were the Type LT it could be charged as a repeat offender.
