Kinja'd!!!

It’s soooooo good for mild trail comfort (electronically selected suspension to softest), though it feels like it has was less wheel travel than the cruiser. Large bumps hit hard and harsh. Low range also makes it act funny (goofy throttle response makes it strange to drive). It makes me realize that for how much better on road this is (waaaay quieter, faster, more comfortable, fuel efficient) its no 80 series off road... those things are magic off road.

Did I miss a “new ride” post?

My wife’s new car. Our sensible fuel efficient alternative to the nox box... Another 5000 truck

So you pulled the trigger? Nice. I have set my suspension in softest and left it there. Funny you mention it drives funky in low range I have not noticed that.

I mean, the difference in price is a lot of gas money. You and sm70 could start up a Lex Cruiser convoy.

I went and looked at a GX to trade the Taco in on a week or so ago, before I decided to keep the truck. I liked it, and the price was wonderful on it, as it was listed with 68k miles. It ended up having 198k on the odo, which made the price a little less wonderful.

I’d be interested to hear what about the throttle you don’t like or feel is different. Only recently can the throttle be calibrated differently for 4Lo from High Range, is it a bonus?

And, that suspension, although I don’t have fancy pants suspension on the 100, there is a huge difference in how the two take bumps, 100 vs 80.

I have found the optimal speed for a particular intersection with two parallel gutters where I can absolutely float from one depression to the next: It’s 27 mph. It makes passengers very anxious as I speed up to approach this particular intersection, and surprised when it feels so smooth. The 100 would have an anurism if I took the same intersection at that speed.

The throttle on the gx is just funny, small deadspace then heavily front loaded with little travel. In low it just is exacerbated and it takes some getting used to. I know what you mean with the smooth speed I’ve figured out a few of those near me as well. I took the gx through the same bumps at the same speed and... Yeah... Aunrism
