I’d a dream that left me unsettled, confused, frustrated, and melancholy this morning.
I don’t understand why I had a dream about a girl I was very interested in months ago. We’d a lot in common and I felt it a good time being around her. and even though she completely “ghosted” me or just disconnected entirely and just disappeared out of my life for reasons I’ll never get to know or understand, the dream depicted us resolving whatever issue there was and deciding to date; which would’ve been admittedly a nice thing I think.
It’s no wonder I often feel better in my dreams than I do in reality. They’re just that, dreams. But they feel sooo real, especially the ones I can remember vividly like this one.
I hate dreams like this because they come out of nowhere for seemingly no reason and they make me feel rather disappointed, and I know they can’t happen because they’re nothing more than dreams.

I understand completely. I have a lot of bad dreams and nightmares (and sleep paralysis woo), which yeah, they can be disappointing. But it’s important to remember that they’re just that: dreams. Sometimes them not happening is for the better.

Phew
Don’t get me started. I have this reoccurring dream about my ex (mother of my first child: she left me)
But in the dream she comes up the walkway of my old apartment and she’s “glowing golden” in this incredible, luminous light. And i can her her voice, and feel her skin and there’s this euphoric sense of completeness in the dream.
I should probably go see a counselor.
I’ve moved on and had a child with a new gal (that’s way “better”) so to speak.
But that dream is vivid and all too real. Am I touching another plane of existence or am I nutz?
Who knows.

But seriously though. I have had so many dreams that were so real I couldn’t tell them from reality.
One time, For a whole week I lived two lives, not knowing which life was real, I always felt exhausted because every time I went to sleep because I would “wake up” in a dream with he previous days real events having been just a dream. I’m assuming It’s been a while and I’m assuming I’m in the real world and not the dream world. Never know though :P

For a long time, a recurring dream I had was that I was sitting in class for the final, and realized I hadn’t attended the class all semester. apparently that’s common enough to have an XKCD:
another regular one is where something important is going on, and I have to call someone on the phone but no matter how many times I try I can’t dial the goddamn phone number correctly.

She blocked me on all things, I’m sure. But I’m not sure why? The last time I ever got a response from her, I was looking for a friend and she said she couldn’t deal with me at the moment and I just accepted that and didn’t message her for a couple months. Then when I texted her next there was nothing.

Then it becomes a rabbit hole of “but what if”s. What if I had turned right instead of left today? What if I had worked harder on any number of my relationships? Could things always be for the better? Yes. Could things always be for the worse? Absolutely. By focusing on the things we have or haven’t done, it’s easy to cloud your focus on the here and now. And I’ve been there (well, I am there), and you just have to use things like this in a positive way, whatever way you can.

Oh man. I used to have a nightmare about failing calc 2, again. It’s changed.
Now, it’s my final semester of Georgia Tech and I need to pass all my classes to graduate. It’s dead week. I haven’t been to this one class since the first test and have no idea what my grade is in the class, but only need a D to pass. Ironically it’s a literature class, a class I didn’t take at Tech. For added irony it’s a spring semester; I graduated in the fall. I’m freaking out. How the fuck am I going to pass this class. I want to go to the professor and beg for a D since I had a job and needed to graduate to keep it, at least that part is in line with reality.
I never find out what happens because I end up waking up. When the nightmare was calc 2 or 3, I would get up and check my transcript to make sure I actually passed that class.

Last night my son woke up in the middle of the night screaming. He’s almost 2. I checked the monitor to see if he was standing in his crib. I went in and settled him and put him back in his bed.
I went to sleep and had a dream that my son was screaming in his bed. In the dream I checked the monitor. Instead of seeing his room, I had a first person view of what he was seeing: 2 possessed demon dogs barking had gnashing their teeth near his bed.
That fucked me up pretty good for a minute.

I’ve actually been having an increasing number of “lucid” dreams over the past year. It’s kind of like portrayed in Inception, I’ll notice something out of place and realize I’m in a dream.
Unfortunately it’s mostly
not
like Inception; I can’t construct whatever world I want and move freely through it like a first-person shooter video game. I still exist within whatever environment my brain cooks up. usually what happens is I’ll notice whatever it is that’s out of place (e.g. I look at someone, then when I turn around moments later it’s a different person) and wake up shortly afterward. But one I had recently was weird. What tipped me off that I was dreaming is that I was at my grandmothers old house, and while I was standing on the porch it was dark out. when I went inside, sunlight was streaming through the windows. I realized “this is fucked up, I’m dreaming” and spent what felt like an eternity trying to force myself to wake up. stuff like deliberately throwing myself down the basement stairs, or asking a couple of family members present to hit me (as if I was among them in reality) and so on. Then when I actually woke up, I clearly remember saying “Finally!”

I have dreams where I find people I care about dead. Like one time I was at my alcoholic moms old shitty house and there was water up to the second story of the house and everything was black except for my abusive father who was dead and decaying in the water on the first floor illuminated in blue light. Also someone was trying to kill me too and they were wearing all black and had no head and had a gun and I was running from them to the back garage and passed by my fathers body on the way.

My last dream that I remember, I got stabbed to death in NYC.
Don’t worry about your dream. Dreams like that are just frustrating because they are disappointing. I have dreams like that too. They usually mess me up for a day or too.
