There was another, black Ford Galaxy MPV. Just a shampoo and rinse. No picture, it was just a Galaxy.

On to today. Beers and lunch with a great friend.

Kinja'd!!!

Some great classic buses were out in the lovely sunny weather.

Only managed to get a picture of this one though as I was sitting down with a beer in hand.

1958 Leyland PD2/40 made in Barrow (the arse end of my county).

The paint on that “just a Ford” looks perfect. Did you correct it with any polish? It looks fantastic.

I didn’t take any pictures of the Ford Galaxy.

The last picture with my ugly mush in wearing the baseball cap, is Piglet. She was washed, dried, then a drying aid/top up (Gyeon Cure) was used to get rid of any fine waterspots before they baked in. She’s never been polished except the occasional scratch that appears here and there since we got her nearly 15 months ago.

Panel temperatures were crazy hot, even on the silver Eos.

The black Ford Galaxy is owned by a neighbour who really doesn’t care about his cars and just abuses them. I did it out of courtesy as he wants to use it to take his son to the church in it when he gets married. So I didn’t even bother doing anything more than scrub the wheels, degreaser, rinse, snow foam, wash and rinse (left to dry).

Serious question: how cheap do defender 90/110's go for across the pond? Would loooove to import a cheap enough one and fix up and putter around town on the weekends in it.

What country are you in and what year are you looking for?

The last ones are going for silly money, but older (1990-1995 models anyway) can be had for around £5,000-10,000.

1994, 110 County 2.5 300TDi. £5,000.

If you want to do the work yourself, they can be had from £3,000 upwards.

USA, I was watching top gear last night and it reminded me of how I always thought defenders were the coolest thing. Here, they are stupidly expensive. I don’t want some super luxurious one, i’d rather go for the rugged look anyway. I’d be looking for an early ‘90's model so I could import it, gotta research more about them though.

They are pretty much the ultimate Mecano set, with many parts interchangeable from Series I up to present day Defender.

Try asking about on Land Rover, Defender, etc... forums for what would be best for you, advice on buying from a private seller and exporting. There are quite a few companies set up purely to export Landies to North America in what ever state you want it from fully configured to what you want to an as seen car with a few boxes of new parts for you to fit.

The Landie clubs and forums are a very helpful bunch and I’m sure will be more than happy to help.
