Outside of there not being a single fuse in the interior fuse block that doesn’t have constant power, forcing us to run it through the fire wall to the outside block, it was pretty easy.
Does exactly what it should; powers on when I start the truck or put it in “run”, shuts off a couple seconds after the truck is put into accessory or completely off.
The dash cam itself was only $27 as a return at Micro Center because the mic was flukey. Didn’t bother me any because I didn’t want to record sound anyway. The video quality and field of view is excellent on it so I have no complaints other than it being a little bulky.

For GM BCMs, you can tap in to the “sunroof” fuse. That’s the one I used in my Solstice.
(Yes, they have a populated “sunroof” fuse for my manual soft top.)

The brand is Wicked HD or something like that. It’s nothing I’ve ever heard of but it was so cheap and had such a good camera I didn’t mind the off-brandness of it. I’ve probably had it a few weeks now, but havent been using it becuase the cord dangling bothered me so much.

We ended up tapping into a fuse titled miscellaneous/ignition. I really expected a pickup to have a couple upfitter fuses on the interior fuse block.

I ended up wiring an extra 12v socket into my glovebox to connect my dashcam. The added bonus being that I have an extra socket if I need it ( the car only came with one).
