I noticed this about the Opel Adam and I cannot unsee it.

Kinja'd!!!

Every car that has the black roof looks like a hearse due to the chrome trim separating it from the glass. It’s a stupid design choice.

This one really got the ball rolling for the faux floating C-pillar. Now numerous appliances, especially at Toyolex and Nissan, are popping up with it. Sychophant/lemming designers.

It’s on the current Astra estate.

With the Insignia, they did it a little different.

agree - I just do not like that “flying roof” styling. It’s like the car has trump hair.

Weird Opel hasn’t introduced a black or whatever color strip. It would fit really good with their other customization options.

Yeah, what gives with the black roofs?

Is it just me, or is this one of the most egregious, obvious, and stupid examples imaginable of mistaking appearance for function? Even more outrageous ‘cause it *decreases* overall functionality rather than adding (it’s meant to indicate carbon-fibre, true?) since black will tend to make the car hotter inside.

Actually, brothers and sisters, for us as a society this can’t be good. Anyone else remember in (was it?) Brave New World where the Huxley writes that the proles’ cars’ speedometers go up to, like, 200 miles an hour just driving down the block? *smh*
