I’ll be in the San Fransisco area for two weeks for work training starting June 5. It’s my first time in CA and the furthest west I’ve ever been. So if anyone wants to get together or show me around, this is probably the only time I’ll ever be there.
I’ll be working Mon-Fri but I’ll have weekends free and my only objectives while I’m there is to see the Midway Museum, Alcatraz, and get some west coast sea food. Maybe one of your crazy C&Cs that cost as much as a 3rd world country if time allows it.
So yeah, lemme know.

Cool! I’m about 4 hours south, not sure I’d be able to get up there but there’s loads of great stuff to see and quite a few Opponauts around the area. And yeah, the amount of money thrown around some places up there is insane. If you’re in the city, you’ll only be about an hour from the Canepa Design C&C. If you’re going to go to any of them, that’s the one.

Where are you coming from?
I try not to enter the city on a weekend (I do it all week from where I live in the East Bay) - but here are some recommendations!
Buy a ticket for Alcatraz NOW. The ferry tickets sell out. Use Lyft while you’re here - don’t try to walk or use public transit if you have limited time - you’ll spend 3/4 of your day transiting if you do. Bakeries & Fortune Cookie factory in Chinatown, go to Twin Peaks, do the walk from Legion of Honor to Sutro Baths, catch a weekday evening game at AT&T Park, and on a Thursday night go to Nightlife @ Academy of Sciences.
Food wise: Mexican food in the Mission, there are several good Burmese restaurants (very rare in the US), good german (I love Walzwerk in SOMA), lots of great coffee (try SightGlass on 7th st), Magic Flute in Pacific Heights (PacHeights to locals) has Brioche French Toast that is worth it’s weight in gold, the best Chinese food is actual in Sunset (not Chinatown), and eat your way through the Ferry Building. While in the Ferry Building, make sure to try the “Secret Breakfast” icecream at Humphry Slocombe. It’s Burbon and Cornflake icecream.
Midway is San Diego. USS Hornet is in Alameda though.

There’s plenty of car-spotting to be done in town without going to C&C. I won’t be in town until like mid-July, but I can tell you what’s cool!
Misc advice:
Don’t bother driving in town unless you’re crazy, Uber/Lyft and $20 on your reloadable Clipper card will take you anywhere and everywhere. There’s loads of good places to walk in this town.
North Beach/Chinatown is great and a short hop to the waterfront where you should go check out the USS Pampanito. It’s a real honest-to-god WWII era sub. Daily tours available.
The Exploratorium’s along the waterfront and it’s this really cool interactive science museum. I went there a couple of times in their old location and it was always a buttload of fun. Heard they’ve got a lot more cool things in their new location.
Coffee! We’ve got Blue Bottle, Sightglass, and many more. I can write forever on this.
Seafood! I vote for Anchor Oyster Bar in the Castro. $$$ but you get so much fresh seafood. Get the Cioppino wherever you go, it’s a local delicacy.

Im down to grab a beer and show you around a bit. I work downtown and live 30ish min away.
Also,will be autocrossing the mustang on the 10th or 11th(about an hour and a half away)if you wanted to roll. Always down to meet a fellow oppo.
