I was never a fan of the gimmicky roof, but put the top down and give me 12 cylinders and a gated shifter any day. One of only 43 manual transmission Ferrari 575 Superamericas ever produced is up for auction today at the RM Villa Erba auctions. Estimates start at 550,000 Euro, so bid early and bid often! If that’s a bit out of your budget, there’s also a manual transmission 550 Barchetta that’s estimated to fall between 360k and 400k Euro.

That’s ridiculous. You could have 37 Fiat Barchettas for the price of that Ferrari Barchetta. Probably almost as much HP is you added them together too.

Wow, I thought I was pretty caught up on 575 specs, and yet I never knew they made manual Super Americas. That’s crazy awesome!
EDIT: Sweet Jesus I just saw they have a Diablo SE30 up for auction. My dream car!

I would rather have a 575 (550 is fine too) without any America in it. They are pretty cars with a coupe roof.

Gimmicky roof? Hold on buddy.
This is a targa top that removes itself. A glass roof without flimsy and fiddly shade panels. A folding hardtop that isn’t as heavy or complex as the rest, that doesn’t spoil the lines of the car.
The Superamerica’s roof is the best convertible roof design ever fitted to a car. It has all the benefits of the rest with few of the drawbacks. It’s the standard by which all should be judged.
