Kinja'd!!!

I have been tasked with making the video for my sons’ 5th grade graduation. I’m using 143 stills to make a slide show with music. I have done it, but I can’t get it to export to anything useful. It’s supposed to make an mp4, but both times I’ve tried it’s made a file with zero bytes.

Ultimately, I could play it in iMovie from my laptop, but I’d rather provide it on a memory stick that could be played on whatever laptop they have wired to their projector/sound system.

A 935 for your time.

I have looked at videos for other aspects of this project, but not that. I’ve also perused some Apple forums, and it looks like it might be a functionality that, in typical Apple fashion, has been removed or dumbed down. I might have to recreate it in an older version of the app. Which wouldn’t be the end of the world, but I’d rather not have to do that.

I was able to do it but I haven’t updated in a good while.

It probably is not finished processing yet. It will put a placeholder icon on your desktop but won’t work until iMovie is done.

Look for this little circle to appear. (can take a few minutes to even pop up)

That’s your progress wheel.

Eventually it’ll start to move.

I had the same issue the first time I used it.

You are exactly right. The movie is about 10 minutes long, and it took about two hours to process. As far as I can tell, the final product came out just fine. I read a lot about how Apple “streamlined” this latest version, but I think all they really did was make it harder to find the things you need.

Thanks for the reply.
