I grew up in the 70s, so I love pop-up and hideaway headlights - particularly when one side doesn’t really work and the car stares at you like Popeye.
My ‘85 Prelude had them. Sometimes the motor would go wonky and then the heat from the headlights could melt the plastic in the bumper. So they told me, anyway.

It just came across like you were trolling, saying something that you knew would piss off other people. It’s ok if you don’t like pop-up headlights! But calling them terrible and comparing them to parachutes is a little extreme. Have you ever driven a car with pop-up lights? I drive an NA Miata. Do you know how much extra throttle I need to use when I put the headlights up to compensate for those “parachutes” on the front of my car? A very negligible amount. You don’t notice a difference.
