Since Holden and GM in their infinite wisdom have decided to stop making Commodores, I won’t be getting a new one this year, so the money finally went to a new PC.
i7 7700K
Corsair H100i v2 CPU Cooler
ASUS ROG Strix Z270F Gaming MB
ZOTAC GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Founders Edition
Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB PC4-25600 (3200MHz) DDR4
Samsung 250GB SSD, 960 EVO Series, m.2 (PCIE)
Currently hooked up to my 65in TV providing silky 4K gaming goodness.

But... you could have gotten a Commodore PC instead!

Technically...that was the first Commodore I ever owned.

I am super jealous. Been looking at a new build but I can’t justify the price yet. And that’s pretty close spec-wise to what I would be getting.

This is my ‘work PC’ as far as the tax man is concerned.

Super jealous. I would love to build a gaming desktop but I can’t justify it right now.

I’m just about there. I think $1000 is going to build a pretty serious small form factor rig for me. I am going to replace an old gaming laptop with a small desktop on a monitor/computer mounting stand.

That’s about what my budget would be. I would like to get something with an i7 and a 1060 or 1070.

F*ck that’s a nice build! Jealous here too. I’ve been milking my old 26ook for a while now, getting close to time for an upgrade.

I went from an i7 930 with a 9790 in it to this.
Battlegrounds at 1280x768 with everything on low was unplayable, now it’s 4K with everything set to ultra and smooth.

I’m still flogging an I5 2500K (not over clocked) that I built in 2012, with only a graphics upgrade (GTX560TI to a GTX970) a couple years back. It somehow still manages to do everything I ask of it. Keep thinking of a new build, but after putting a parts list together, or gaming on the old rigid for a couple hours, the tightwad in me always says “no”.

Ha ha, I built mine around that same time and yup I’m in the same boat as you. Upgrading to a SSD for operating system and better video card has kept the new build itch from taking over.
