My company is hosting a Women in Aerospace meetup tonight! It’s exciting, but as a man in Aerospace marketing, this is the part of the night where I hang back, read Oppo, and let everyone enjoy the networking until it’s time to clean up. Some of our satellites* for your time...

A wild job opening appears: https://spire.com/careers/openings/

This company needs more Oppos. We have a couple people who “like” cars in the #carstuff slack channel but could use more. I think I’m the only person here with a project car. The guy next to me used to be a product manager at Tesla on the roadster/model S but “car guy”... not by Oppo standards.

Sweetness....

I can mechanical test like a motherinstrumenter, but my Solidworks King Fu is rusty...

How many women are actually in aerospace?

I originally tried to major in it. I had some horrid professors and I quit. I imagine there are many stories like mine :(

There are lots of bad stories, but a group with no twitter and facebook has pulled in 30+ people. So that’s a good sign.

FWIW my bachelor’s is in aero, had about 10 other women in my graduating class. Worked in the industry for a year and then left for automotive.

Working with some of my favorite people and in my favorite office (I designed it).

Edit: you should do it! If you do, mention Nick Allain, and it should get you reviewed faster :)

It’s super tempting, I greatly enjoy the UK, and it’d be nice to use my degree, but I’m enjoying my current gig traveling the world doing motorsports things.

But Scotland though.... this is seriously tempting.

I have an absolute love affair with the roads outside of Glasgow. When I hear people in LA talk about how close the good roads are (they aren’t), I just think “PFSH!” because Glasgow wins, hands down. More roads, better access. Plus a really interesting assortment of cars.
