Good on the Camaro. Big Willow is more about horsepower than handling, I’d be curious to see how they stack up at the Streets. If the SS can hang then, well damn it’s a hell of a lot better than expected.

Came very close to ordering a SS 1LE in Krypton Green this winter when the M3 was in storage. The only thing that was really holding me up was I couldn’t find any reason to modify it in any meaningful way to make it more personal.
Toss up between the C7 GS and the SS 1LE for being the best performance bang-for-your- buck.

I think what’s surprising is that they posted such times while driving around something with worse visibility than a full face helmet (which they were likely wearing also?).
I’d still rather have the GT350R. Sounds better, looks better, better visibility, doesn’t require a mullet and/or vapist kit to own, and is a more enjoyable drive.

Tied? With 75 less hp, I knew the new camaro was a beast but damn. In defense of both the GT350R and the ZL1, we are getting to super car territory. McLaren 570 with active aero is only 7 tens faster and a turbo 911 is basically even with the ZL1.
This is crazy coming from a couple of pony cars from companies that supposedly only knew how to drive in straight line.

I must admit, the GT350R sounds nasty but it does it in a tuner car way. Built for America, exhaust tuned for vtec-kid. $63,245 for the GT350R, $44,000 for the SS 1LE. On paper... CMON.

After spending a few days with a lesser V6, I’m a believer. (Hopefully Oppo-review is posted tomorrow, its halfway done.). Even the basic Camaro has an amazing chassis and handles stupidly well.

Are there any missing disclaimers regarding tires on this comparison? I can say I amazed that a presumably “normal” Camaro put up the same time as the unholy track mustang. Also curious if a Focus RS is close to any of these.

Agreed. I would take a 1LE V6 any day. In the head to head vs the M2, which it’s supposedly the best M car right now, it was pretty close. A tad slower but it shows how well the Alpha platform was set up.

I’m assuming the Camaros were on the Goodyear F1 SuperCar tires, which I wouldn’t put in the same league as the Sport Cup 2's on the GT350R. Though I did hear the new ones aren’t bad.

They are not your normal F1 Supercar tires that you can buy through TireRack, pretty sure they are bespoke compounds for the 1LE and ZL1.

Correct, they are Super Car 3's but I believe they tweaked the compound further per GM’s engineering requests. I’ll look into it more when I get out of work.

Also, unless there’s more decimals they’ve got that aren’t showing, I think if there’s nothing else to break the tie the cheaper car should rank higher.
