I don’t think I’ve had so many things shipping towards me at once. Illustration provided:

Kinja'd!!!

Currently, I have heading towards me:

- 2 brake rotors (projected to arrive today).
- 4 brake pads (4 for the price of 2! Also arriving today).
- 6 rally lights  (from the same vendor yet arriving in 3 different boxes, 3 different mail carriers, 3 different days).
- A steel mounting plate for 2 of the lights (arriving tomorrow???)
- A Honor 5X (got it for $40, I couldn’t resist).
- A Galaxy S7 from Samsung (tried to get them to do a warranty repair before I sell it, arriving today.)
- The “Boys Will Be Boys...” shirt from Philip Defranco (for Miss Tesla).
- A poster from URealms Live . (for Miss Tesla, arriving 2 weeks from now-ish).

Carriers are mostly UPS and FedEx, with a dab of USPS for extra measure.
How I imagine my apartment looking like:

And just in time too, the rotors on the Rallyfortwo looks and sounds absolutely terrible:

Doesn’t your first-gen Smart have a cracked head or something?

Thought so! Turned out it didn’t, it just had a lot of burning/fire damage. I cleaned all that stuff up, got the engine back to 100%, and put it back on the road! :)

What lights did you decide on?

Your Smart will look something like this by the time you’re done.

Better hope it doesn’t roll over onto its nose from the extra weight! :D

Wait, did it catch on fire?

Generic 6 inch ones. Figured the only way I can keep on budget is to go cheap on appearance items but spend more on the important stuff.

From what I could tell, yes. I’m guessing the oil that was spewing all over the place either hit the cat or the exhaust and lit up. Thankfully once the oil was burned the fire stopped.

Sounds similar to the ongoing 3800 valve cover gasket recall because people don’t do regular maintenence through their car, never replace the valve cover gasket like you’re supposed to, it leaks oil onto the exhaust manifold, and you have a flambe’d Pontiac. Of course, people blamed this on GM until they recalled it so that’s cool too.

I recently had to replace the valve cover gasket on my Miata for this same reason. It wasn’t terrible yet, but you could smell where the leaked oil was hitting hot parts and burning off.

My car isn’t dropping any oil on the ground but years of deferred maintenance means my engine is slowly leeching oil from the VC gasket and front main engine seal. I’m waiting till this fall to just yank the engine and do all of the maintenance at once.
