You’ve got a 3 year edge on mine, which have never been replaced (granted my car is very low mileage for its age). Not feeling much urge to replace them unless I start getting a misfire.

Yeah, mine have about a 5th of that. Though I’m pretty sure it’s a wasted spark system, so they’ve had to work twice as hard over those 50k miles.

One of my cars has COPs that date from right around this era... Still going...
Mind you, I can’t recall having ever replaced one of the shared coils on a car built in the last 40 years. The last coil I remember replacing was in a 1975 GMC truck around 2001 or so, and I can’t remember replacing one on anything built after the 1970s.
These per-plug coils seem to go a lot more often, but it seems silly to complain considering they’re ridiculously reliable compared to spark plug wires. Then again, those stopped being a problem on cars starting sometime in the late 90s or early 00s. I don’t think I’ve replaced a set of spark plug wires in over a decade (and those were on a car that was built in the early-90s). Then again, I don’t own a car with spark plug wires anymore...

My 944 made it from 1984 until 2014 with the original cap, rotor and coil. They were pretty beat up and not far from failing, but they still worked. The Germans build some durable shit.

I have the original points in my motorcycle which were first installed in March of 1972 by some guy in Japan. Still on the factory clutch as well.
