Volvo and Lotus Are Now Under the Same Banner

Well I never thought I’d see these two together but China’s Geely just purchased a controlling stake in Proton and the deal included control over Lotus. So considering how well Volvo has turned around under Geely, what would you like to see from Lotus? Any ideas on how Volvo, Lotus, and the all-electric brand Link & Co could work off each other?

Geely also owns the London Taxi Company, so that’s two storied low volume British automakers in their portfolio now.

Purists will bitch, Lotus will flourish. Grass green, sky blue. I like this future because it may mean ideas, like the crazies concepts rolled out awhile back, can come to fruition.

It won’t matter unless Lotus’ name actually gets out there. So a good advertising program and joint dealerships with Volvo dealers is my idea.

Lotus tuned Volvo V60 wagon
