The 10 bolt rear on my Suburban ‘sploded. I totally have time to deal with this... FACK!

it might not be THAT bad...... might of just lost a bolt, or some part to a limited slip...... you might be able to just clear out the metal, and seal up the cover........

In this case, exploded really does appear to mean exploded. I know you don’t have a lot of time, but these can be found in pretty much any junkyard anywhere and aren’t all that hard to swap out. Like Die-Trying said, there’s a good chance when you pull off the cover you’ll find that you might be able to just replace what broke and the cover without pulling the whole thing. It’s not guaranteed, but it could save some time. When I was a kid in Boy Scouts I watched one guy fix rebuild the rear diff on a Surburban in an afternoon so that we wouldn’t be stranded in the woods come Monday. Think positive!

I betcha is the  pinion bearing and seal. Seems to be common with the corporate 10 bolt

I think it may have more to do with the chunk of carrier sticking through the cover.
