One Great Actor

I loved Roger Moore. Pierce Brosnan and he are my favorite Bond actors. The movies he made were great and very entertaining, but I think one of his best roles was himself. 1981 saw the release of The Cannonball Run, one of the best and most hilarious car related film out there. Along with its sequel and The Gumball Rally, the 80's were a great time for cross country racing. We had huge names like Burt Reynolds, Farrah Fawcett, and Dom DeLuise playing the “main characters” with just amazingly huge names playing backup. One of the best characters was Seymour. A very jewish male played by Roger Moore. The whole bit was this man as stated by his mother, “Seymour Goldfarb, Jr., son of Seymour Goldfarb, God rest his soul, and heir to the Goldfarb Girdles fortune. And what is he doing? Walking around, acting like he was some goy movie star named Roger Moore.” The whole movie he has another women in the car with him in each scene with driving a lovely DB5 with all the gadgets. While maybe not his most profound role, I think it is my favorite role. It just seemed so perfect for Roger Moore. Like many of the other actors in these films I think they played themselves and it worked great.
