Obviously the GTO is a fabulous car, but I have never really understood why people get all gooey about them once you’ve seen a 250 GT passo corto .

I like the 250 GTO more than the Lussos and whatnot. But That doesn’t lessen my excitement for them.

My personnal Ferrari 250 ranking:

1. 250 Tour De France

2. 250 SWB

3. 250 GTO

Same here. But the short 250 is so much nicer than the rest!

As I have mentioned somewhere here sometime last week, yeah - the F40 is a very nice car indeed, but put it side by side with a Ferrari GTO (the “288" one) and there is simply no comparison.

I’d say first 250 SWB and 250 TdF and 250 GTO a very distant second (cannot really decide between them).

Also lately I am liking more and more the old “little” berlinettas, particularly those by Vignale.

Because I must be a bit of a contrarian I don’t see where the problem is with the 365/400/412 cars – or the Mondials, for that matter. Regarding the latter LJKS once said that thanks to its weight distribution the Mondial had much nicer road manners than the regular 308/328 (and that was way before the Mondial t).

If it was good enough for that wonderful, erudite, much lamented opinionated bastard it would be good enough for me and my fantasy stables.

I love the 412! That rear end is masterful.
