I’m not an expert, but I’ll answer the best I can. If you have some insight, feel free to add that as well.

I was in Bnei Brak waiting for the sherut one time, and this young well-dressed guy pulls up in some immaculate late ‘60s - early ‘70s land barge. I can’t imagine fueling one of those things in Israel.

Where do people go when they want to go fast?

And that’s why this picture is so representative.

In addition to white, silver/grey and black are very common.

The roads. People here drive very, very fast.

(There are also a couple racing circuits in the country, including one on an airfield, but those are few and far between.)

Haha I just remembered, the day I arrived, my taxi driver (apart from ripping me off) encountered a traffic jam where some people were pushing their disabled car across a divided road. The cabbie hopped up on the divider to get around. Welcome to Israel!

What is the most dominant motorsport in Israel?

What is the most common brand? Japaneese, German, French, or euro Ford?

Have fun. I’m from Palestine, haven’t been back around there in a few years now. Planning to visit family in Jerusalem next spring/summer. Lots of nice modified VW’s and clean BMW’s from what I remember. In ramallah, I always remember seeing this C5 Z06 with Tennessee plates. Also used to always see this street parked E30 M3 with a fading gold paint job. It looked so nice and well used.

I heard the Jeep yj was built there but in a long wheelbase variant. Do they exist still?

I remember from my time in Israel (eons ago) that some cars had 3M red/white reflective tape on the rear bumpers. Is this still a thing? Was it ever a thing? Why is it a thing?

I read once, not too long ago, that motorsport is or was outlawed there. True or not? I saw your note about tracks in the comments and it reminded me of this.

I once saw an Alfa Brera on Television Aviv. It was a beautiful thing. I also have only been genuinely scared in a car once, which was with an Israeli 18 year old driving his mother’s mpv type vehicle. Never again.

Sanctioned motorsport isn’t particularly prevalent in Israel, but judging by the stickers I’ve seen on the cars the most popular thing for people to be a fan of is rallying or touring car racing.

Japanese brands, specifically Toyota, are probably the most common. That being said, most brands and origins are fairly well represented. You’ve got plenty of French, German, Korean, Swedish, Spanish, Czek, Italian, British, American market, and European market American cars.

I can’t say for sure if they are still making them, but yes I have seen one or two of them.

Yes, it is very much still a thing. Unless I’m greatly mistaken, it is due to the fact that in both rural and urban areas, the roads can be poorly lit, and drivers tend to leave their cars parked in odd places along the road.

I don’t believe motorsport is currently outlawed, but it is certainly not popular.

Israel isn’t much in the way of interesting cars, but being in a foreign country with a foreign market as an American, still find interesting germs to entertain me. So for my favorite has been the brief glimpse of a Citroen C6.
