Better reinforce your igloo with some sturdy burlap.

Please, I live in Toronto. We don’t get enough winter for igloos.

Granted, it has snowed before on the May 2-4 long weekend just north of the city.

Victoria Day is an excellent occasion to make God Save the Queen the anthem again.

I’m currently at work in Maine and I am North of Toronto. I live even farther North or Toronto.

Oh hell no. It rains literally every May 2-4 long weekend. Not for the whole thing, but just enough to remind you that the weather here sucks.

I like The Maple Leaf Forever myself. The old Canadian anthem.

Is the Maple Leaf your Sovereign?

Why do you hate Quebec?

I just like the song and the story in it.

Galaxie Victoria, Fairlane Town Victoria, and another Galaxie Victoria. The Victoria badge on the Fairlane -> Fairlane Galaxie -> Galaxie was continual from the Crestline as a badge for the hardtop (i.e. pillarless) model... although the Crown Victoria was a *chrome pillar* version in ‘55. Previously the Victoria had been a submodel of the ‘32.

Whoa... Is this a Canadian market thing, or have I just never known this? I thought the Victoria name died out around ‘56 or ‘57 and didn’t come back until ‘79.

Haha, it snowed a bit here. Classic Canada

Nope. The Victoria was a regular US sub-model on the Galaxie. They even introduced a four-door Victoria on the ‘56 Fairlane and when the Galaxie and Fairlane badges split, they kept the Victoria sub-model name until at least ‘64 for two and four-door hardtops - I think the ‘65-on hardtops weren’t labeled and the ‘66 hardtops were all LTD/LTD Brougham.

Interesting! So it was the top-line luxury model? I even own a ‘63 Galaxie and I didn’t know there was a Victoria trim that year. I DO know that the LTD name came about as a top-tier line on the ‘65 Galaxie since I did a lot of research on them many years ago... It was a teenage dream car of mine.

The Victoria wasn’t a trim level for ‘63 exactly - it was a *body style*(!), but I think it was only available in 500 and 500XL, which *were* the trim levels. Kind of odd. From at least ‘56 on up to ‘64 it had connotations for both trim level and body style to greater or lesser degree.

Kinja'd!!!

Here’s a normal Galaxie Victoria (two door) like the one in red. Below, a four-door Victoria:

Kinja'd!!!

You will notice that the four-door has a little chrome triangle at the back edge of the door, and if the two-door’s rear windows were down on one a little older, you’d see the top chrome strip stay in place. That’s because the sheet metal for the Victoria models is the same other than the missing door post, and Ford had fillers to make the frameless doors and (in the case of the four door) the weird rear glass fit properly.

I think both of the examples I’ve got here are 500XLs, they’re both Thunderbird Packages of some kind (V8 fender badge), and the one at the top I think has the factory option fake wire wheels. The lower one looks like real wire wheel 15"s.

RockAuto has a reprint of the original owner’s manual for these - it’s well worth picking up. Accurate reproduction in every way other than not having the dealer service coupons perforated.
