Two days of 10 hours each day and progress is being made!
Pulled both rear shock/springs off. Sway bar end links removed.
Driver rear control arms: Pulled off, de-bushing’d, wire brushed, rust converted, and painted chassis black. Given poly bushings and re-installed. Not yet torqued - coilovers arrive tomorrow.
Passenger rear control arms: Pulled off, de-bushing’d, wire brushed, rust converted, and painted chassis black. Still need to have bushings installed then re-installation into car.
Didn’t really think I would be doing any restoration on this project but so far so good! #1 - screw this stupid tool:
#2 - Much dirt, bit of rust, such control arm.
#3 - NOT BAD!!!!!!

Being part of the way through this, maybe you should wait... forever. Lol.
It’s actually not that bad. Working on this car is literally the first time in months I’ve been able to relax.

Working on cars is always a mix of being very happy, slightly angry, and nervous, and excited.
Usually when it’s all done you forget about how mad you got when you broke that bolt/tool, or that hour you spent looking for the ratchet that you put on the valve cover... in plain sight, or how many times you thought “I hope I’m doing this right, better quadruple check it, just incase”
At the end of a project you’re r just happy, and proud, and thankful that you did it. That’s why I bought a stupid old Mitsubishi. So I could have more projects and more victories like that.

I did ONE control arm this way, took a very long time.
had enough, finally went up to my neighbor who had a press and borrowed it.
got everything else out and in within 30 mins LOL

Haha, I wish I had your neighbor. I just did both sides of the rear with this instrument of doom.
