Days like those are why I left that life behind and went back to my actual certified, licensed skillet.
That said I hope it picks up, but the subprime lending business is just about to implode and take a lot of the car business with it.
Just in time for automated services like CarMax and Carvana to to fill in for those who actually ought to be buying.
Genuinely, the subprime market should get pushed into the leasing market, with one of those “new every two” like cell phone companies.

I hope it works out for you. I’ve sold cars for over 3 years now and there are real ups and downs. Just have to save fastidiously during the good times and hunker down in the slow.
Also just try and catch as many ups as you can.

Yeah, I’m a greeter not a salesman. And all they did was complain that I was greeting customers and talking to them. While they went upstairs and had a 1 hour lunch, denying me the ability to even have lunch.

It’s illegal to work for less than minimum wage. If your commission doesn’t cover it they still have to pay you minimum wage for the time you are there.

Dealerships get around that by giving you a “draw”. Basically you keep the draw if you don’t make enough to cover it, but if you make enough they take it back. And if you don’t make enough to cover it one month, they take the extra out of the next month.
Minimum wage and hourly pay is not measured up against anything where if I don’t make enough, they’ll take it back next month. You never truly get anything your commission doesn’t cover.
