I’ve gotta say, it has a sweet taste that I’ve never tasted in an IPA before.

Shiner had its place, but an IPA isn’t it. I did have thier zeigenbock a few weeks back. It was fine for what it was, and it was the best beer I could find at the one gas station in Eula, TX.

Most hated thing in beer is a fruity flavour. Therefore, very very IPAs are palatable. Sweetness belongs in... umm...

Dammit, I’m trying here...

I’ll go with boiled sweets.

And that’s about it. Stay away from my beer sweetness!

Btw, shiner has its place - as the most palatable beer at most restaurants in texas.

I had a Grapefruit Kolsch, a raspberry pale and a Berliner Weiss today. The raspberry was a little weird, but the Kolsch and Weiss were really quite good. That said, I agree on the “sweet” IPAs - they end up kind of dank and syrupy if they are sweet...
