I’ve never been in a Miata, but I’d imagine a 1 drink per person maximum is efficient. Our caravan has 8 seats and 10 cup holders.

My Tacoma has 2 usable seats and six cup holders because reasons.

Although it has positions for three cup holders.

(For those that are unaware of how the ND works... The cupholders are all removable. There’s two slots for them to dock into the rear bulkhead, IIRC, and a third slot on the passenger side transmission tunnel.)
