Make sure it really dropped. I took an internet class when those were new, I went down and dropped it, well it didn’t happen and they just failed me later. I wondered why the prof didn’t at least email me when I didn’t do a single thing!

I was in the same situation three weeks ago. I’d never dropped a class, but I did so on the last week of classes. In the end, only 3% of the students who started the class passed (85% drop rate, 20% pass rate of those who remained). I would’ve finished 0.2% less than the minimum grade to pass. I cried when I had to drop it, but it was the best thing to do. It wouldn’t have affected my GPA, but still. I’m on course to graduate a year ahead of everyone else and I intend on keeping it that way. I understand you entirely.

My college did WP and WF, because they were all about the shame game. It didn’t do anything to your GPA, but they wanted to still make sure it would show if you dropped because of failing...

That’s stupid. I once dropped a class because of personal reasons that actually prevented my from physically getting to campus. Coincidentally, my grade was on the fence, but I would have passed for sure were it not for other factors.

Unless your future employer wants to see your transcript (which I’ve never heard of), then don’t sweat it. Often I have scheduled one more class than I want to take, and drop my least favorite after a couple of weeks. Good grades matter, the fact that you dropped a class does not.

Yeah i just went back to school for the first time in like 2 years and working full time and trying to get back into school I had to drop 2 classes. I just couldn’t do it all.
