( see prior day here ) Single digits, it just got real here.
How do you sand the insides of springs? Sandpaper rolls from the plumbing department. Bam!
Angle grinder for the outside, and some degreasing and you have a set of springs ready for paint.
Oh yeah, like new and good for another 63 years.
Oil pan? Yeah, that’s blue now too.
Aw... yeah... A-arms got new parts bolted on.
The fourth A-arm is still waiting for its final black paint because I forgot to get gloves and don’t want my hands to match my suspension. Lower ball joints will require renting the installer tool again, then I can start putting the suspension on. My pipe dream hope for this weekend is to have the suspension, spindles and steering all bolted up.

Here you are practically building a car for the rally and I’m probably not even going to clean mine until the night before.

To be fair I’ve been acquiring parts for this work for over a year, and I tore the truck down in Octobeer and let it sit all winter. This is more using the rally as a reason to get the work done & the truck drivable again than anything else.

It’s a shame you sold that awesome trailer you made. That would’ve been cool to see on the rally.
