One of my readers stopped by the office for a visit and drove up in this. He’s been a regular visitor for the couple years I’ve worked here and I NEVER knew he had this car until today. Color me impressed/jealous. :)

Man, that US spec bumper rule. Just brutal on some cars.

Looks like it’s in great shape though!

It looked pretty immaculate. The leather looked brand-spankin’ new. And he said it won an award at a small car show recently. It definitely a neat little car.

Interestingly, something like 90% of all TR6s were sold in the US.

Also interestingly they didn’t get fuel injection because it didn’t meet their emissions regulations.

Every time I look at a 2002 that has yet to have the “euro” bumper conversion, I think “is this really the car I adore?”

Somewhere I have an issue of the UK magazine Classic and Sports Car that has a TR6 buyer’s guide, including all the favorite rust spots. I would guess in Texas that this has nothing in any of them... unlike two I’ve had contact with.

Ye’, those chunks of rubber need to go.

Kinja'd!!!

The later 1975 TR6 with the side lights and indicators below the bumper look pretty good.

When it comes to a classic car I believe in keeping it stock but deleting rubber stops from bumpers is another thing, a thing that needs to go.

Nice,

Myself I prefer the bumpy-lumpy Tr4s,

There are parts of Texas that have a fair bit of salt in the air. But he keeps this little gem garage kept year-round, even though we live in a very temperate part of the state. He actually mentioned that today he felt like taking it out to get some air. Heh. :)

I have had a thing for TR6's for years. Would love to own one, but as a 6'2" ‘Merican sized male, I have little hope of ever fitting in one.

Such a nice looking car.

On at least one (possibly two) occasion(s), my brother bought a TR6 with the body in bad shape, a TR4 with the mechanicals in poor condition, and mated the two to create the TR5 (ISTRC him saying that the TR5 was not sold in the US, but that the version sold in the UK was essentially the same as his modification).

I have a photo of him with his TR5 somewhere in my paper collection.

I so badly want one of these or a Sprite (pic from last C&C) with a 1992-1993 Miata drivetrain/suspension “skateboard” underneath it. Japanese reliability and “modern” suspension with the amazing looks of British motoring.
